Welcome to the website for the Cold War Reasearch Project that has been carried out under the Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS)

As the White Book resulting from the studies are in Danish, so is the website. However, we appreciate the big interest form abroad that the project has been given, which is why we have this small section for our non-Danish visitors.

What has really interested our overseas colleagues are the pdf-documents, which we have put on this site. To get to these dokuments click the link "dokumenter" either here, or in the left-side menu on this page.

The two first categories of documents are from the Danish Foreign Ministry and from the Danish-Soviet Organisation. All of the documents in these categories are in Danish.
Next are Polish and Soviet documents, with translations to Danish. Our aim is, at some point, to have english translations of these documents too.
The next two categories are American and English documents. Of course, these should be of interest to our english-speaking colleagues.
Note, that the documents put out on this site are not representative for all of the material used during the research process. However, they give a pre-view into the kind of sources that has been used.

On the page "arkiver" we give an overview of the archives we have been making visits to. These are split up between the Danish, the Western and the Eastern archives. Allthough the text on the pages is in Danish, there are links to all of the archives, if they do have a website. Hopefully these pages can also be of some use for English-speaking visitors.
